The petals used in these preserves were foraged in our own neighborhood (Eastlake) and across the western slopes of Capitol Hill and First Hill: from well manicured yards rich in fragrance, gravel alleyways painted red with blooms, unkempt lawns overtaken by yellow, and tree lined strew with tiny petals. These preserves are the taste of the city through its flowers.
